Paper. Card stock makes the best bookmarks: 65 to 110 lb cover (about 176 to 300 gsm). Most home printers take up to about 80 lb cover (216 gsm), so check yours and use the rear or manual feed tray for thick card. Plain 24 to 32 lb (90 to 120 gsm) paper is fine for a quick one.

Printing. Print at 100% (Actual size), not Fit to page, so each bookmark stays 2 x 6 in (50 x 150 mm).

Pro tip: make them double-sided. Print a sheet, turn it over along its long edge, put it back in the tray and print a different bookmark on the back. Every bookmark sheet uses the same layout, so the two sides line up. Pencil a small mark on the top edge first, and try it on plain paper to see which way up your printer wants the sheet.

Finishing. Color first, then cut along the corner marks with scissors or a paper trimmer. Punch the circle and add a ribbon or tassel, and laminate or cover with clear film to make it last. Colored pencils work on any card; markers are best on thick card so they don't show through.
